Partnerships Manager at Vibrant Girls Development Initiative

We are looking for an enthusiastic partnerships manager who is brimming with ideas to help VGDI seal collaborations for and scale the impact of its programmes.

Essentially, you will be responsible for overseeing and growing all VGDI’s partnership activities (core) and driving success for all the organisation’s programmes.

In this volunteer role, you will work with the Director of Partnerships to:

• Research potential partners, identify key players, and build strategic connections with decision-makers within partner organisations as needed
• Collaborate with the entire team to align on internal partnership goals, develop tailored pitches and proposals for VGDI’s programs, and deliver them persuasively while addressing partner concerns
• Seal strategic partnerships and/or funding for each of VGDI’s programmes
• Employ a variety of techniques (e.g. networking, attending external events, cold-calling, in-person meetings) to ensure a robust pipeline of partnership opportunities
• Forecast, measure, and report the results of various projects with partners, including co-created and/or co-executed projects and initiatives
• Keep a great ongoing relationship with current partners and offer new ways to grow the partnership

Requirements

• Passionate about girl-child development: Your energy knows no equal when it comes to advocacy for girls and women. Your voice is often the loudest in the room
• 0 – 3 years of experience and knowledge in partnerships and outreach ideally in a nonprofit or social enterprise.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Strategic thinker and great networking aptitude
• Ownership: Despite being a volunteer opportunity, you are ready to hold the pen on the execution of your ideas from start to finish
• Teachable: You are constantly learning new things from people (old and new) and, existing tools and resources

Location

You will mostly be supporting the team in your function remotely. However, given that the organisation is based in Lagos, we may have physical meetups a few times during the year.
